Aly -N- Cece Moody Engagement session at Austin's own Mohawk.
Aly and Cece met almost six years ago when Cece was feeling a little squirrely (and a little sauced) and made a fated prank phone call to Aly. What was supposed to be a quick fun little chat turned into a two hour conversation, which became a two week conversation. They decided to meet up and thus began their journey, together. A beginning as friends is how I met my better half too. When these guys tell me they want to see themselves having fun in their wedding photos, I understand completely and I can relate!
Fast forward five years, Aly and Cece have endured a big move and a five year relationship, that's huge. Cece asked Aly's family for her hand in marriage and they said yes, and Aly said yes too at Universal Studios Harry Potter World. #nerds. Their wedding is coming soon, in fact they will be wed on my 10 year wedding anniversary with Steve. What a fitting celebration for us and a tribute to love itself. #loveislove

Darrin is an American in the Air Force and Helene is Norwegian living in Cairo working for the UN. They met while the pair were stationed in the same country, however brief. They played volleyball and Helene quipped her team was the best. Darrin will retire soon and Helene will join him, but they decided to get married now to make the transition a little easier when the time comes. So surprise they're actually just married!

Joanna and Jeff the lucky winners of one of our "engagement" session give-aways! They have been married for some time but their amazing story is Joanna's amazing transformation. They dutifully took their engagement pictures in the northeast with their photographer before their wedding. When she saw the photos from her session Joanna was disappointed with her appearance. After their wedding she went on a diet and started exercising. Jeff is an airline pilot, he travels a considerable amount of time. She was able to devote a good amount of time to her new hobby. In less than 2 years she shed more than 80 pounds. It's hard to bounce back emotionally though and Joanna still doesn't see the fit person she has become. Hopefully these images will help with that ;)

Liz was hands down the most afraid subject I have ever worked with. She told me over the phone that she was completely unphotogenic. I explained this was a phenomena that only exists in ones head and that everyone is beautiful in some way and can be photographed as such. But as you can see, I was completely wrong, she's a hot mess ;) Just kidding, what a total knock out!

Stassney and Tommy have been engaged for 1 million years. :) We met them at a bridal event way back in 2009. Since then we had gone back and forth a few times on whether we'd be able to shoot their wedding. Dates and plans had changed a couple times and it was looking like it wasn't going to happen for us. Flash forward to a contest we ran a couple months ago, "Be our # ____ fan." Well, her good girlfriend won the contest and handed it over to her. Stassney was thrilled and told me to "come up with something cool" for the shoot. I wanted to do a sordid affair in the style of late night paparazzi. They were all in! As you can see, we worked in some not too obvious pieces too, for their Memphis home walls. After our session, they decided to bust their budget and they have now brought us on to photograph their March wedding. I am thrilled that everything has worked out. Stassney is like a sister to me these days and I just can't imagine not being there for her. I'm so happy to be charged with photographing their long-awaited wedding day! Congratulations you two, see you in 6 weeks!
